Someone once described the Hub Cafe as the 'kitchen table' of the Hub, sitting as it does right at the heart of the centre, often bustling and always welcoming. Now obviously right now it's a little quieter, as the cafe has hung up its apron until we are back to more 'normal' times.
Usually, we would be open four days a week providing affordable, home-cooked, quality food. Overlooking our courtyard, the Hub Cafe is a friendly, social environment where everyone is welcome (from tiny tots to seniors and every age in between!)
The cafe is headed up by a small staff team, alongside a "we-simply-couldn't-do-it-without-them" wonderful and hardworking team of volunteers. We believe that food matters and the majority of our food is homemade and freshly-made on the premises by our food-loving cooks. Alongside our scrummy homemade cakes, we also serve panini and toasted sandwiches, homemade soup & quiches, baked potatoes, daily specials, toasted tea cakes and scones. Oh, and we also have a 5* Food hygiene rating.
If you have little ones…
Our free soft play area might help make that cup of coffee that little bit more relaxing! Open Tuesday-Thursday 12 noon-2.30pm (term time) and 10am-2.30pm every Friday, under 5s are welcome to burn off some energy whilst you watch on. (Currently closed until COVID restrictions are lifted.)
In need of a listening ear…?
We have a team of volunteers waiting to provide just that. Once we a re up and running again, a member of our Listening Team will be floating in the Cafe for anyone who may be looking for a friendly face and open ears to sit down alongside.
Tuesdays to Fridays from 10am to 2.30pm
(*the cafe is currently closed whilst the centre is affected by government COVID restrictions.)
